What benefits does Financial Membership provide me with?
As the Association which represents the majority of child care centres in Victoria, we are able to provide your Centre with genuine value for money. Membership provides the following benefits:

· Fully Maintained Office
CCCAV has a fully maintained, modern Head Office from which your President and Executive direct the Association's activities. The Office is maintained by full time staff who provide Members with support, advice and guidance as and when needed - advice is just a phone call away.

· Federal Awards
The Association will provide Centres with Federal award up-to-date information, award variations, rates of pay and any other relevant industrial information.

· Government Liaison
Representation at both Federal and State levels with all relevant Government Departments. Regular meetings with, and representations made to, the Commonwealth Department of Health and Family Services on Childcare Funding and Accreditation issues, the Family Assistance Office on Child Care Benefit procedures. Liaison with the Department of Human Services - Office of Pre-School and Child Care in Victoria on regulatory issues.

· Parent Referral Service
The Association receives many inquires from parents seeking child care. We refer Member's Centres operating in specific areas where the care is needed.

· Newsletter
CCCAV produces a monthly newsletter for its Members, the Monthly Crier, which keeps members informed on all new and ongoing developments relevant to our industry, including Government proposals, seminars and workshops, programming hints, business advice, industrial relations and other matters of interest. Newsletter subscriptions are available for non-members.

· Victorian State Conference
CCCAV is considering staging regular conferences for genuine assistance and information for Members, based on member's feedback.

· Workshops and In-Service Program
CCCAV is considering to deliver and facilitate varied and carefully designed programs / training sessions as required. These would be open to all those involved in the child care industry. Subject areas to cover a wide range from administration to topical areas of importance. Members of our Association and their staff will be able to participate in these sessions at specially discounted rates. Non-members are welcome to attend but at a higher rate.

· General Members Meetings
Meetings for Members are conducted quarterly and keynote speakers are invited to make representations of interest to the industry. These valuable sessions invite all Members to guide the Executive in the public stance taken by the Association and their submissions to Government. CCCAV responds promptly where the urgency of threats to, or opportunities for, our industry warrants, and arranges special seminars/meetings on such matters where your opinion and advice are required.

· Internet
The CCCAV maintains a web site on the Internet as another tool to further the Association’s role as a provider of easy access to information for its Members. We also provide a free listing for Members in a “Child Care In Victoria” page where Members can list their Centre information for parents looking for child care.

· Representation
The CCCAV represents the industry by participating in numerous projects and programs including at both State and Federal Government levels. This ensures that Member’s interests are well represented and the CCCAV and its Members are at the forefront of industry developments.

· Federal Representation
CCCAV Members are represented nationally by the newly formed national childcare body, Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA). The CCCAV also provides Members with direct representation at Federal level and lobbies the Federal Government and politicians on Members’ behalf on any matters that affect child care.

· Industrial Representation
The Association provides Members with legal advice and assistance on all industrial relations and employment related matters. If required we can also provide Members with access to Australian Childcare Centres Association (ACCA), which represents the interests of Members before industrial tribunals and provides them and the CCCAV Executive, with expert advice and assistance on all industrial relations and employment related matters.

· Legal Services

With the expertise and experience of CCCAV’s Executive, the Office is able to provide paralegal advice by phone. Members are able to obtain expert advice by phone from Anderson Rice Lawyers on a wide range of issues, by contacting Philip Barton on 9672 2666. Specialist industrial legal representation/advice is available from Sarina Cowle and Associates on 9870 4246, at competitively negotiated rates.

· Insurance
Members have access to Guild Insurance - Australia’s major insurer of private child care centres. Special areas covered include Public Liability, Professional Indemnity, Fire and similar perils, damage to Centres and contents, home contents, motor vehicles and legal fees insurance coverage. Loans and leases availability to approved applicants.

· Advertising in the Leader Newspaper

Leader Newspapers has 31 local papers which covers 88% of the Melbourne Metropolitan area and circulates to well over 1 million homes and businesses. The CCCAV has arranged for a special deal for Members only. CCCAV Members will receive a 5% discount off the normal advertising rates in Leader Community Classifieds, over and above any other discounts which are applicable!! (To receive the discount, the CCCAV logo must be displayed in the advertisement.)

· Suppliers

CCCAV has a large network of suppliers who not only support our Association through participation at CCCAV State Conferences when staged, but who are more than happy to assist our Members with competitive prices and specialised service.

Membership of the Child Care Centres Association of Victoria provides access to you, as a Proprietor/Licensee, to all these services and more.
